Sooner or Later…

School, School in Our Home (an adaptation)

Oh, give me a home where the schoolbooks don’t roam
Where the teens and the toddlers play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day

School, school in our home
Where the teens and the toddlers play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day

How often at night when the heavens are bright
With the light from the glittering stars
Have I stood there amazed and asked as I gazed
If the neighbor’s homeschool exceeds ours

(Refrain)

Where the air isn’t pure, and the days aren’t so free
Yet the day beckons tempting and bright
And I would not exchange my school in the home
For all of the cities so bright

(Refrain)

Oh, I love those wild flow’rs in this dear land of ours
And the children just add to the scene
And I love the white rocks and the antelope flocks
Hurry dry-brush those mountaintops green!

(Refrain)
