My new camera
For Christmas on of the gifts I received from dh was a new digital camera. I have always used film and was usually pleased with the results. My 110 finally died this past July and I had purchased a new Cannon on clearance $10 (regular $90). It is a much nicer camera than the old 110 and I am still learning to use it.
So why get a new camera when there is a new one already in the house? Well, I am famous for not getting pictures developed in a regular timely fashion. I just developed ones just taken and ones that were several years old. It is hard to take children back in time. So perhaps with a digital we can at least see what was snapped. A friend assures me that sending them to Walmart is a breeze–and cheap too.
So today I girded myself up and opened the plastic packaging, which was a feat in itself. Here are the results.
My first picture of Zach. This is a wall in our kitchen, the bookcase has my cookbooks and is stacked with homeschool stuff that needs to be moved into the bookcase just past the bassinet. He loves to turn our rulers into helicopters, several are mia.
My first attempt at trimming–not too bad if I do say so.
Baby Danielle in her walker in the frontroom now 5 months old! This is a reluctant smile as she would rather be snuggled and nursing.
It was much darker in there and I’m not quite as pleased with the results. I took one shot of Zach but several of her and erased most. Lighting is the issue and something I will need to tinker with. Our kitchen window is westerly and gets good afternoon light, while the frontroom is more northerly so is a bit dimmer. Actually it is quite a bit dimmer as the drapes are closed most of the time.
I am very excited about this camera. I know it is basically a beginner camera but Davo (Grits dh) is an art major at the state university & said that once things fall together there are almost always cameras for sale by students wanting to upgrade. It isn’t difficult to get a good camera fairly cheap.
Even better I can now add easily add pictures to this blog, at times it is so much easier to show than tell. Now off to that long-suffering baby.
