Why would anyone try to earn the mother-in-law from hell title?
especially before the marriage?

Cloistered hs syndrome thoughts

Amy’s Humble Musing featured a sidebar link that begged to be followed: “Cloistered Homeschool Syndrome”.  *Yawn* another round in the homeschool v public school debate. Hopping over was a pleasant surprise. Finally, someone who expresses cohesive thoughts on a popular trend among homeschool families, their growing (and grown) children and adult life.
This trend would be easy to ignore but there are some aspects that […]

Gone on

Mil passed away early this morning.
It wasn’t a slap in the face surprise, she hadn’t been eating for several days.  A body can’t live on a few pain pills.
But it was…unexpected.  Early this week she told my dh that she wasn’t ready to go but felt that she was.  When he asked ‘why?’ the answer […]

This is mil’s update.  Not in a very good order because it has been a few days.
When she first went in they ran tests and put her on morphine for her pain.  The scans came back with sites on her brain, lungs, kidneys, and liver.  The brain on was deemed most important in treatment order as […]

Mother in law is in the hospital and its not looking too good.
It all started on a trip back home to Illinois–the place where all her family but us are, the place she lived sixty years of her life.  It was a family celebration of her parents 65 years of marriage yet saving the big […]

Bad news on the doorstep;  I couldn’t take one more step.       Don McLean “American Pie”

Some days are just like that.  We were at my oldest dd’s home when the letter came for her husband.  He had joined the Marines as a 17 yo, 9/11 occurred just before 18, and was invading Bagdad at just past 19.  After […]

Random pregnancy thoughts

Living in Arkansas has its good points and its bad points.  We are in rice field country so mosquitoes are the #1 bad point.  Picture miles and miles of flooded fields all prime real estate for mosquitoes.  Local blame the mess  on corn fields *News Flash*  I grew up in Illinois and we may have […]

“One”, Metallica, and Real Life

*Don’t let the band name scare you off.  The video is part band in black & white, fully dressed in a warehouse no scantily clad girls in sight.  The rest is clips from a 1950’s movie titled “Johnny got his Guns”.  The music style is similiar to late 70s rock or modern Christian bands.
Quote “For freedom […]

After the Morrow

Tomorrow came and is now yesterday.  Thank goodness at many levels.
The office was a cubicle with walls and sterile lighting–Dilbert could have walked through the door.  The genetics councilor was northern and had a voice to match.  There was the obligatory box of tissues (2) and the lesson was basic.
In the ultrasound room we found […]
